Star for Life (SFL) is a South African registered Not-For-Profit organisation. It was launched in 2005 as school-based HIV and AIDS prevention programme that empowers youth with information and motivation to take decisions that will reduce the risk of them contracting HIV, with a desire to build attitudes and change behaviors in youth in ways that empower them to realize their dreams of a better future. We are proud that we demonstrated success of SFL work in Kwa-Zulu Natal province of South Africa where we have provided intervention since 2006. Today we're working in about 100 schools in South Africa and Namibia. Nine of these schools are primary schools.
  • The SA National Strategic Plan (NSP), a multi-sectoral response to South Africa’s AIDS epidemic, calls for treatment, care and support for 80% of HIV positive people by 2011.
  • Namibia is rated one of the most sparsely populated country in the world, with an HIV prevalence of 17.8% in 2008.
