Team building activities
are essential for any organisation that aims to strengthen and develop trust
and honesty among co-workers. Our team in Namibia recently participated in
Wellness Day hosted by our Wellness Manager, Noluthando Nondabula. The Star For Life Namibia together with Noluthando Nondabula during the kayaking session. On the 03 April 2014 the
team spent the whole day at Von Bach dam in Okahandja, where fun and exciting activities
such kayaking, trust games and ‘blind’ walks were conducted. The
Star For Life Country Manager in Namibia Evelina Kalenga said these activities help
colleagues to relate to each other while building trust, “Our team needs to
come together as a team at some point and discuss challenges they are facing,
sharing ideas and learn about each other’s weaknesses and strengths as this
will help them to understand each other.” Country Manager Evelina kalenga together with Ngula Mbindawina, Veronique Shekupe and Emilia Nambahu. Noluthando Nondabula said this
year they decided to leave the office environment in order to create a more
relaxed feel for the workshop. Sometimes the work of the Life Coaches can be
very emotionally draining and they need to debrief and share the challenges
they are facing with their team mates. “Team work and communication is always
the key to any productive team, activities such as trust walks help to
strengthen trust and honesty among team mates.”
Susan Uushona a Life
Skills Coach in the Okahandja region said even though they work in
different locations and schools, they still need to communicate with other
colleagues. “Team building activities play a huge role when it comes to easing
conflicts between colleagues and also help team mates to bond.”
